Privacy Policy
The short version: your birth date never leaves your device, and we collect as little as we can get away with.
Your birth date
When you enter a birth date, the calculation happens entirely inside your own web browser, on your own device. The date is not sent to our server, not written to any log, not stored anywhere, and not included in any analytics event.
This is not a policy promise we are asking you to take on trust — it is how the site is built. If you open your browser's network inspector and use the calculator, you will see no request carrying your date, because none is made. We could not tell you what you typed even if you asked us to.

What we do collect
If you accept the cookie notice, we use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to count visits and see which pages people read. These record that a page was viewed and that something happened — for example, that a calculation was run — but never what was entered.
If you decline, neither is loaded at all. They are not loaded-and-suppressed; the scripts simply never enter the page.
If you subscribe to The Lunar Letter, we pass your email address and, if you gave one, your first name to our email provider so they can send it to you. Nothing else.
What we never do
We do not sell or share your data with anyone for their own purposes. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not ask you to create an account, because we do not want to hold one. We do not process payments — Victor's books are sold through his Stan Store, and anything you enter there is covered by their policy rather than ours.
We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights, and how to use them
You can withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which will make the notice appear again.
Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and using it removes you from the list immediately.
If you are in the UK or EU you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. In practice the only personal data we could hold is an email address you gave us — so in almost every case the answer is "your email address, and nothing else". To ask, or to have it deleted, contact us through any of the accounts linked in the footer.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, we will change this page, and the change will be visible in the site's public version history. We will not quietly start collecting something new.
